Mathura is one of the holy and historical cities of the Hindus. Whenever Mathura is mentioned, it incorporates Vrindavan, Gokul & Govardhan too. Puranic texts and epics have given vivid description of this place which not only in name but topographically also has undergone various changes. Mathura holds within itself many interesting and fascinating facts.

1. Secret of Nidhivan

The Nidhi Van still bears many secrets after many years of Hindu mythology. Radha and Krishna are said to visit the Nidhi Van and conduct their Raas Leela even today, soon after midnight. The place where Gopiyaan used to play their Raas Leela was known as Nidhi Van. The land is densely forested and covered with trees and plants. Each tree in the Van is also thought to be a gopi, which comes to life at night and returns to its original state in the morning.

2. The Secret of Rang Mahal

Radha and Krishna are reported to relax in the Rang Mahal, which is close to the Nidhi Van, after performing the Raas Leela. Each night, a bed is prepared for Krishna Radha. They have come here to rest. People have noticed the bed being kept in a used state, and some have discovered ornaments near the bed. People also leave food on the floor, which is either devoured or strewn. Many people have died in the forest while searching for the Raas Leela.

3. Prem Temple

The Prem temple is one of Vrindavan's most loyal temples. The temple has two storeys, one dedicated to Ram and Sita and the other to the pious Hanuman. Krishna and Radha are honoured on the second floor. The temple's interiors are adorned with expensive stones, while the temple itself is constructed entirely of pure sandalwood. The temple is 125 feet tall and has exquisite sculptures and walls.

5. Shri Krishna Janmbhoomi Temple

The mosque was built to spread the Islam among the hindus and obstruct the hindus from visiting the Shri Krishna janambhoomi. it was built by the mugal ruler Aurangzeb. The archaeological evidence has been found that showed the attacks of muslim ruler in Krishna janambhoomi. The evidence also showed that the great grandson of Krishna has built the first temple at the prison of Knas where the bhagwan Krishna was divinely born.

6. The Govardhan Hill

The Govardhan Hill is the most prominent attraction in Mathura, as it is said that Lora Krishna took the hill in one of his fingers when the inhabitants of Mathura were threatened by the Rain God. The contour of the Hill is similar to that of a peacock. The Archaeological Museum is another well-known attraction that has facts and information on Indian art and the history of Indian mythology. Jama Masjid, Dwarkhandeesh Temple, and other popular tourist attractions in Mathura attract thousands of visitors each year.

7. The Chandrodaya mandir

The Vrindavan Chandrodaya Temple, dubbed the world's highest temple, has even outstripped the Burj Khalifa in terms of height. The temple is 700 feet tall, and the cost of building was estimated to be over Rs. 700 crores. This is the most expensive temple ever constructed, with a total area of 26 acres. On the summit, there is a heritage museum and a viewing tower with spectacular views of the Yamuna River. The ISKCON organisation is building this temple, and they are doing everything they can to make it the best in the world.
