Bankey Bihari Temple

Constructed in 1864, Banke Bihari is the most visited and attractive temple of Vrindavan.The main attraction here is the mesmerizing black idol believed to be a charming image left by Lord Krishna himself after appearing in person to one of his devotees Swami Haridas.Prior to the construction of this temple, the mesmerizing idol of the supreme power was worshiped in Nidhivan. Lord Krishna in this idol is standing in tribhanga position, this is the reason the Deity is called Banke Bihari as Banke means bent from the three angles and Bihari means the supreme enjoyer. The idol of Goddess Radha Rani was set up afterward and till date, the divine couple is always seen together in the temple.

Nidhivan Temple

Nidhivan is the place where Lord Krishna blessed Swami Haridas Ji with his appearance. The divine Saint meditated in Nidhivan and pleased Thakur Ji with his devotional songs and music. It is said that Swami Ji’s spiritual aspiration empowered him with divinity which enabled him to see Shri Radha Krishna in his dreams. But the Saint’s dedication, devotion and spiritual penance moved the supreme power so much that Priya-Priyatam appeared in front of Swami Ji. The spot where the deity blessed him is where Banke Bihari temple of Nidhivan has been built and is also known as Prakatyasthal.

Sevakunj Temple

Seva Kunj is placed in the heart of Vrindavan, Swami Hit Harivansh Ji discovered this place in 1590. The temple is named so as Shree Krishna is believed to do sewa of his beloved Radha in this sacred place. The same has been reflected with the marble walls that are imprinted with the verses from Radhasudhanidhi. This sacred place is said to be blessed with the divine presence of Leeladhar Krishna, Radha Rani and Gopis every night. The beautiful evergreen bushes in Seva Kunj uniquely grow bending towards the ground as if they are bowing in respect of Lord Krishna.

Prem Mandir

Prem Mandir is the temple that signifies the celestial love of Shri Radha Krishna. The shrine was the emanated by the vision of Saint Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj . He then bequeathed it to holy Brajbhoomi, the place close to the heart of Shri Radha Krishna. In Brajbhoomi, the temple lies in the periphery of Vrindavan on an area of 54 acres. It is like a jewel in Brij and is the most beautiful temple in the area. The temple was inaugurated in February 2012 and is administered by Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat which is an international non-profit trust which works towards spirituality, education and charity.

Shri Rangnath Mandir

Jiva Goswami established this temple in 1542 and it is located at Seva Kunj, Vrindavan. The main deities residing here are Radha–Damodar. A Dedication to Lord Ranganatha depicted as Lord Vishnu in his sheshashayi pose, resting on the coils of the sacred Sesha Naga. The temple was built in 1851 in the Dravidian style. It has a gopuram of six storeys and a gold-plated Dhwaja stambha, 50 feet high. The 'Brahmotsdav' celebration in March–April is marked by the pulling of the Temple chariots by the devotees from the temple to the adjoining gardens

Iskcon Temple

Also known as Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Mandir, ISKCON Vrindavan is a dream fulfilled of Swami Prabhupada (the founder-acharya of ISKCON), who wished to build a temple for the brothers - Krishna and Balaram - in the same holy city where they played together several centuries ago. Located in the Raman Reti area of Vrindavan, ISKCON temple has become the major attraction in the city and is thronged by devotees from nearby Delhi and all over the world. The three altars at ISKCON Vrindavan are the seats of Sri Sri Gaura Nitai, Shri Krishna and Balaram and Sri Sri Radha Shyamasundara along with Lalita and Vishakha.

Govind Devji Temple

The temple, built of red sandstone, is dedicated to Lord Krishna in his childhood home. Vrindavan is a twin town to Mathura, where Sri Krishna was born and adjacent to Gokul, where he is believed to have spent the initial years of his childhood. Although the original idol no longer exists in the temple, it is said that the idol of Lord Krishna in Govind Devji Temple resembled the face of the lord when he was born. he Govind Devji Temple is one of the four temples of particular interest among the thousand within the periphery of Vrindavan town.

Madan Mohan Temple

Madan Mohan Temple, also known as Sri Radha Madana Mohan Temple, is the oldest temple in Vrindavan. Located close to Kaliya Ghat, on Dwadashaditya hill overlooking Yamuna River, it is 50ft high. It is believed that Lord Krishna rested at this site after conquering Kaliya Naag. Radha and Lalita Sakhi are worshipped here along with Madana Mohan (Sri Krishna). The view of Vrindavan from the temple is stunning. While the central tower houses idols of Radha, Krishna and Lalita Sakhi, the right tower houses the bhajan kutir and samadhi (cenotaph) of Sri Sanatana Goswami.

Katyayini Devi Temple

The Katyayani Peeth in Vrindavan, also known as Uma Shakti Peeth is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. The idol of Sati is worshipped here in the form of Uma. It is believed that when Lord Vishnu used his Sudarshan Chakra to cut Maa Sati’s body to relieve Lord Shiva from the sorrow of losing his wife, the ringlets of her hair fell in this place. Shahji Temple

The Shahji temple was built in the year 1876 by Shah Kundan Lal and is dedicated to Lord Krishna. The main deity here is known as Chhote Radha Raman. Its impressive marble structure features 12 beautiful spiral columns of a height of 15 feet each and also the Basanti Kamra which is a hall with Belgian glass chandeliers and intricate paintings placed within.
